Little is known about the origins of Michell as they are shrouded (or at least covered with a moth-eaten towel) by the mists of time. What is known is largely obscure and often contradictory.  Oh and he sometimes speaks about himself in the third person.

One thing that is known to be absolutely true is he is a perfectionist (a nice way of saying anal) as can be evidenced by the number of iterations it took him to write the first chapter (completely) of his first book (31).

On the subject of his first book, Michell is always more than happy to discuss, often to excess, the trials and tribulations he has faced. He usually misses those visual cues to shut-up or change the subject (like the audience falling asleep or simply walking away).

A few fast (note I didn’t say interesting) facts:

1. Michell’s name is pronounced “Michael” not “Mitchell” or “Michelle” as many folks are obliged to do (he has been known to respond to Mike just to avoid confusion)
2. Michell worked as a computer technologist for more than 15 years
3. Michell’s perfectionist nature (see anal) makes writing Science Fiction difficult
4. Michell’s preferred genre is Fantasy and YA (for writing) and Sci-Fi/Fantasy for reading
5. Authors of influence: Anne McCaffery, Dave Duncan, Elizabeth Moon, Elizabeth Haydon, Douglas Adams and Terry Pratchett
6. Michell currently has five completed books (none of which are yet published, two of which are being edited):  a fantasy novel for adults, a YA adventure and three YA superhero/adventures.  He has also written several short stories in multiple genres (also not published).
7. Michell was one of the founding members of the amateur writing group “Starting Write Now”
8. Michell started podcasting in January 2009 with ‘Get Published’, a podcast for wannabe published authors (just like him).
9. Michell’s latest project is the writing, recording and releasing of a Science Fiction Comedy podcast titled “GalaxyBillies”. He is enjoying the new project but constantly asks himself what he thinks he was doing by taking on two podcast projects at once. The jury is still out as to whether it’s funny or not although some (3) people seem to like it.
