I don’t know if you can or can’t tell but with only asking for a dollar to make a listing, and since we are fairly new I’m not getting much in banner traffic….you should probably be able to guess that RIGHT NOW…this is a labor of love for me!
I’m looking for some other people who love Speculative Fiction but specifically particular types of genres in SpecFic to help out with the site. There is TONS to do and I would love to have like minded people helping me create the site that this deserves to be. You’ll even get to have the cool title of “X Genre Director”. Looks great on resumes!
So first I’ll mention the tasks you’d be working on and then I’ll mention the types of people I’m seeking out-
Tasks
- Seeking out authors in the genre you’re working with
- Inviting authors to follow @specficdb (as well as other people that love that genre)
- Inviting authors and others of that genre to join the Speculative Fiction DB Fan Page on facebook
- Telling authors of that genre about The Speculative Fiction DB and why having a listing would be useful to them.
- Seeking out blogs and podcasts of that genre to tell them about the SpecFicDB and seeking to get interview or blog posts up
- Inviting fans of the genre to join the Fan Specfic Mailing List
- Inviting authors of that genre to join the Author Specfic Mailing List
- Generally promoting SpecficDB to your chosen genre!
Seeking – I’m looking for people to take up these genres
- Agents
- Alternative Universe
- Comics
- Dystopian (Director Head Filled)
- Fairy Tales
- Fantasy
- Graphic Novels
- Horror
- Non-Fiction
- Paranormal Romance (Seeking Director Head)
- Publishers (0)
- Punk
- Science Fiction (Main Genre Director Filled)
- Spec Fic Erotica
- Young Adult (We have a Temporary Genre Director)
If you are interested in helping drop me a line and let’s get you started. Again, this is currently a labor of love and I can’t afford to pay anyone to do the job. These things would be done on your own time but I would like someone who takes up these roles to devote at least 10 hours a week to it. That’s typical reading time or less.
