1) Why do I have to create a member name to submit a listing?
We want to make sure that anyone who is submitting a listing – not those nasty spam bots – is only submitting a listing for Speculative Fiction. This is a way to insure that happens. Besides – it’s FREE!
2) I heard that if I am not in PRINT I can still list with you, is that true? What does E-Medium mean?
Yes even if you don’t have a print book you can list!! If you have been published on the net, in ebooks, on podcasts, or in mass market – you can submit yourself to the site! Please just make sure people can actually read/listen to you some where if you join and that you write in one of the categories of Speculative Fiction, though.
3) Am I creating a BOOK listing or an AUTHOR listing?
Each listing is for an Author. There is a section in the listing to put all the books and stories you’ve written. So the title should be your Name.
4) Why don’t I see my listing after I submit? Why don’t I see if it I change things?
We want to insure that all the fields are filled in correctly so we go thru and approve each listing. This just helps make sure that you are seen correctly! 
5) How do I get a featured spot?
Email me and let’s find a way for that to happen. It doesn’t necessarily mean you have to pay me. You could write up a review of the site. You could put our banner in a prominent place or you could donate to the site. There are tons of ways and I’m willing to listen to any ideas.
6) How do I change that crazy password that the system assigns me when I first register?
Just click the “My Account” link in the menu and it will take you to your account page where you can edit your password (it’s toward the bottom).
7) It looks like when I enter my listing it doesn’t take. Do I need to resubmit?
I approve each listing to make sure all your information is set correctly to get the best listing possible for you. That is why you will occasionally set your main picture to be of yourself and then in the end it is your website. Once you submit, give it at least 24 to 48 hours to be seen on the site.
I don’t know if I should list myself or my books separately.
Each listing is for an author. You will have a section in the listing no matter which package to list all your stories and books. Put your name in the header. That’s how people will find you.
9) What happens if a few months later I have a new story or book coming out? Can I add those things?
YES! You can come back to the site as often as you like to add new things to your listing. New image covers, new stories, new books. Just go to “My Listings” under the admin section and click on your listing. It will go back up for review but I will get it checked out as soon as possible. If you don’t notice it back up you can always @ me under @specficdb or email me and I’ll get to it asap! We want your fans to be able to find out about ALL your work and the only way they can do that is if you come and let them know about it!
10) I don’t see my favorite author on here? or My brother/cousin/husband/wife writes and isn’t on here! Will you add them?
Due to lack of time on my part I can’t add everyone. That’s why I’ve made it as easy as possible, and as cheap as possible to get listed. My best advice is to write to said person not on the list and tell them about us, tell them that it only takes 5 mins and is only a Tax Deductible dollar and that you want to see them here. Get all your friends to write them and tell them to come list. That’s the best I can do.
11) Can I add a badge on my website linking back to The Speculative Fiction Database?
Yes of Course! you can. I’m working on a small square banner and a small badge! In the mean time please give us a link using our url and also be sure to join our mailing list (it will not be given out) so that we can let you know when cool things like badges and banners are ready for the placing!
